Prepping for a mud race? Then this workout is for you.

Last November, we predicted that mud races like Tough Mudder, Muddy Buddy and Warrior Dash were going to be the must-do races of 2012.

To help you get ready, Crunch has put together a new, kick-butt boot camp-style class called The Athlete's Workout, which is designed to improve your speed, agility and power for hardcore outdoor obstacle course-type races. We asked Zuta Gilchriest, instructor for The Athlete's Workout at Crunch in NYC, for tips:

  • To prepare for crawling under barbed wire, try this exercise.
  • To prepare for swinging across monkey bars, try this exercise.
  • To prepare for slithering through a mud pit, try this exercise.
