What are three tricks for maintaining my weight loss?

 

  1. Watch the salt. Salt can make your body retain water and make it harder to lose weight. Be cautious of foods that contain salt, such as olives, nuts, pickles, roasted peppers, anything from a can, frozen foods, deli meats, cheese and sauces.
  2. Watch your alcohol. Try to cut down on your wine intake. If you routinely have three glasses, make it one or two. If you feel you need to sip something, try diet tonic water with seltzer and lime.
  3. Journal. Get compulsive about your food journal for a week or so. Be brutally honest. Are there picks and sips showing up that are adding up to the culprit calories? Are there nuts and cheese and croutons and bacon bits in your salad? Are you pouring on the dressing?
