Start the new year at this new age shop.

If we have a mantra for 2012, it might be "namaste," the yogic greeting that says each of us contains a divine spark.

So when we passed by the serene-looking Namaste Bookshop near Union Square, intuition drew us in--as well as the mystical scent of incense and the glittering array of healing crystals. Here's what else we discovered:

• Inspiration made easy: The shop is divided into philosophies and practices (such as yoga, eastern spirituality and aromatherapy) to make it easy to find books that speak to you.
• Buddha noses best: Aromatic incense, candles and oils are sprinkled throughout the shop--see what seduces your senses.
• Enlightening ideas: Trinkets such as meditation stones, tapestries and statuettes make great décor. We picked up a chic Capiz Shell Lotus Tea Light Holder ($11.99) to bring light into our cramped NYC apartment (see it glow here). 
• Crystal clarity: Check the shop's website and Facebook page for wellness events such as the Crystal Card Readings happening this Friday.

The future looks bright.
