Work your abs at Pedal's CoreRxN class.

Get a sizzling six-pack without performing a single crunch.

There's no such thing as spot training, but we've found an ab-tastic class that definitely has a narrow focus. Held at the new studio PEDAL, it's called CoreRxN, and it's a red-letter workout.

PEDAL, which stands for Physical Excellence Delivered Around Life, opened on the UWS at the end of last year and also offers pedaling (cycling), TRX, Pilates, yoga...but CoreRxN is one of its hottest items (see the full schedule here). We were intrigued--bikini season isn't that far away--so we stopped by to see what it was about. Here's what we loved:

  • Time flies: CoreRxN features a fun circuit of exercises (none which last for more than 45 seconds) that engage and tone the muscles in the core, obliques and lower back. Own of our favorite moves was The Inchworm, which looks like this (minus the pushup).
  • They got A's: Our instructor, co-owner and Chief Fitness Strategist Raymond Wallace, knew his stuff. When our tight hip flexors were aching, he showed us a modification that took away the pain, but left our abs trembling.
  • Charity water: All proceeds from water bottles sold at the studio are donated to the non-profit Running Through Walls.

It's as easy as A, B, C-ing results.
