What's an easy way to reduce stress in the morning?
Following certain breakfast guidelines can reduce stress by regulating glucose levels, insulin levels and stress hormones, according to Richichi:
- Eat within the first 30-45 minutes of getting up
- Always include 15-20 grams of protein and fiber
- Try one of these two healthy breakfasts:
Morning Bowl
6 oz. plain Greek yogurt (nonfat or low fat)
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1 sliced apple
1 tsp. cinnamon
pinch of stevia
Combine all ingredients and enjoy.
Morning Shake
15-20 g whey or rice protein
8-10 oz. unsweetened coconut or almond milk
1 c. fresh or frozen berries or 1/2 c. berries and 1/2 c. pumpkin
2 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
1 tsp. cinnamon (if using pumpkin)
2-3 tsp. agave or pinch of stevia
Blend all ingredients and enjoy.
