Stories of an island where people gather to Zen out and practice yoga have been passed down from sailor to sailor. (Rumor is even Captain Jack Sparrow went looking for it.) We were beginning to doubt whether such a perfect place could exist...until we found the treasure map.

This Saturday, for one day only, at the strike of 10AM, Governors Island turns into Yoga Island.

Ready to escape? Follow this route to the yoga oasis where classes are free and the namastes are endless.

Stirring drums and sweet voices will draw you in--each outdoor class is set to live music. See the full schedule here. No RSVP necessary, each class is first come, first served. (Just be sure to bring your own mat.)
