Q: We can't bear to part with our, ahem, five-year-old lipstick. (It's been discontinued.) Do we have to chuck it?
A: Oh, the five-year lipstick, I think I may have some of those! The truth is yes, you should probably throw it away--it probably has bacteria growing after five years.
