Wellspotting: Feather Extensions
We love this trendy, chemical-free hair accessory.
Talk about hair envy.
When we street-spotted Mussarat Bata sporting hair feathers (pictured, right), we flew straight to the source: Wendy Nichol, a handbag and jewelry designer who offers the hot natural extensions at her SoHo shop.
In less than 10 minutes, you can get feathered with a bundle of six (choose from soy-dyed neutral shades or bold neons) that won't damage your hair, and will last up to a month. Blow dry 'em, wash them and tie them back in a ponytail for your workouts--they'll last. Plus we're told Nichol sources the low-maintenance accessory from free-range roosters raised in the states.
If you can't make it out to Nichol's studio, buy the feathers on Etsy and apply at home. Check out this tutorial video.
Shake your hair feather.
