The Princess and The Park
You can find summer in January right here.
Once upon a time, a Park Avenue princess grew tired of winter's slush and snow, and yearned for the days of working out in Central Park. She dreamed that somewhere in New York City, there remained a grassy, sunny spot. So she called upon her fairy godmother.
Poof! There appeared, in a tiny corner of Nolita, an enchanted forest unaffected by winter's frosty chill. Openhouse Gallery had turned into Park Here: a more than 4,000 square foot indoor pop-up park (opening this weekend).
Lush, faux grass felt soft on the princess' bare feet the while the smell of rich mulch tickled her nostrils. (See the walls pictured above.) Trees and benches decorated the lawn, acting as perfect props for her royal workouts. Try her park-ready exercises here.
Her Highness enjoyed a lunchtime yoga class from Yogaworks, then grabbed lunch from an indoor gourmet food cart. Check here for a soon-to-be-posted listing of events including fitness classes and movie nights.
"This park is fit for a queen!" she exclaimed.
