A Sensitive Issue

This shampoo leaves scalps clean and irritant-free.

Have skin concerns? Your beauty products could be making them worse.

Dear Santa,

While we loved the body wash you gave us last year, it wrecked havoc on our sensitive skin--methylchloroisothiazolinone, a potent allergen from this list of common allergens to avoid in beauty products, was lurking in it.

May we suggest the recently-opened VMV Hypoallergenics boutique (the first in the US)? The company rates each of its products on a hypoallergenic scale. The validated hypoallergenic (VH) number reveals how many allergens it doesn't contain (think of it like sunscreen: the higher the number, the better).

We've browsed the shop's makeup, detergent and deodorant (they even offer in-house sensitive skin facials), and picked the Superwash Hair and Body Milk Shampoo ($26) for our wish list.

Its fragrance-free, preservative-free, paraben-free, VH-27 formula promotes hair strength without leaving a harmful residue.

Hint: Mrs. Claus might like one, too.

Love,

Vital Juice
