"Meat" and Greet

Say hello to Chipotle's new vegan Garden Blend Burrito made with the other, other (non) meat.

We already liked Chipotle for ditching the artificial flavors and using foods with zero trans fats. Plus, carnivores have been able to enjoy pork, chicken and beef raised free of antibiotics, on vegetarian feed, in an open pasture. (And they call this fast food? Yes, yes they do.)

Now, Chipotle takes its healthy offerings to the next level with a "meat" (in quotes) option. The vegan Garden Blend Burrito ($7.35) is stuffed wtih Gardein, a plant-based meat substitute made from soy, wheat and pea proteins, vegetables and grains including quinoa and millet. (You can also try Garden Blend in your salad, taco, fajita and more.)

Right now, the faux filler is offered only at the Chelsea location, but fans can let the company know they want to bring Garden Blend to their local Chipotle.

'Til then, see you on the west side.
