Toxic Avenger
Buh-bye methylparabens, butylhydroxytoluene, and more.
If you can't pronounce it, don't use it. That's the reasoning behind New York City makeup artist Karim Orange's all-natural philosophy. Here, she swaps our NY editor's usual products for botanical picks that are just as effective:
Editor's product: DiorShow Limited Mascara
Orange says: Most mascaras contain methylparabens, which may cause allergies and have been linked to cancer in some studies. Instead, plump up lashes with a mascara derived from plant extracts by Suki.
Editor's product: Prestige Soft Blend Eyeliner
Orange says: Like the mascara, this eyeliner also contains methylparabens. For a paraben-free pick, look to Zuzu Luxe.
Editor's product: Bobbi Brown Bronzer
Orange says: Skip the potentially irritating butylhydroxytoluene (or BHT) in this bronzer and opt for one from Micabella or Dr. Hauschka.
