Twinkle Toes
Discover the season's fanciest pedicure.
Eggnog, caramel, glitter...put them together and you have a holiday pedicure at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. But is any pedi worth $80? After testing, we say yes: this is a 50-minute spa treatment that just happens to include nail polish. How to make it the best pedicure ever:
- Come early. Arrive 30 minutes ahead of your appointment and head to the women's lounge, where you'll steam in the eucalyptus sauna (we recommend the wave-shaped tile bed). Then, head to the Relaxation Lounge, and claim an ergonomic lounger or a round bed. Enjoy champagne or Mighty Leaf Tea with dried fruits and nuts.
- Step through the looking glass. The esthetician (ask for La Shauna) will lead you into the salon, where chandeliers of glass "bubbles" and strings of crystals shine. You'll pick your polish and settle into the Rolls-Royce of pedicure chairs: its built-in foot whirlpool will be filled with an egg nog-scented pink bath.
- Relax. Enjoy a sweetly scented foot scrub, a caramel foot mask and a luxurious foot and lower leg massage. (We brought a book to read while the mask works.) Our paint job is still flawless two weeks later.
