Mission Possible Moves

Send to a friend
Trainer Jenna Phillips is on a mission.

Thought getting a rockin' bod was impossible? Think again.

Want to try the "Mission Possible" workout at home? We infiltrated trainer Jenna Phillips' top-secret files to nab a few moves from her rigorous regimen:

  • Start with the 57-second squatting challenge: Do as many squats as possible in 57 seconds. Make sure your feet are parallel and about hips-width apart. Drop your rear so that it becomes level with your knees. Be sure to keep your chest lifted, and your shoulders down with a slight arch in your back. Keep abs engaged the entire time.
  • Go into curtsy squats: Bring one foot behind the other leg, toes touching the ground with heels lifted. Maintain a neutral spine and bend both legs at the same time. Repeat on the other side, doing a total count of 10 on each side. Then hold your curtsy squat on the 20th rep, and do tiny pulses up and down 10 times before repeating on the other side.
  • Then, go directly into plié squats, maintaining a neutral spine. Abs are tight; space your feet hips-width apart with toes facing out. Bend your legs, keeping knees over toes. Go all the way down and all the way up 20x total. On your 20th rep, hold your plié squat as low as possible, then pulse up and down 10 times.
  • Next, transition into three sets of pushups. Each set is 57 seconds long. These can be done on your knees or on your toes. The first set should be regular military pushups, with your hands wider than your chest. Do as many as you can do in 57 seconds.
  • Rest for 10 seconds, then begin 57 seconds of military pushups with your fingertips facing out. Your fingertips should be beyond your elbows.
  • Take a 10-second break before going into chaturanga pushups for another 57 seconds. Here's how: keep your elbows alongside your body, so your ribcage can feel your arms as you come up and down. Be sure to maintain a neutral spine. Hold your last pushup halfway down for 15 seconds before going into child's pose.
