So we headed to Silver Lake's House of Intuition--the hip home of Reiki, gong meditation and clairvoyance (done by cool folks like these)--which recently celebrated its first anniversary.

Our inner voice guided us to choose a crystal reading (it's one of The House's most popular picks). How it works:

• Go with your gut. We were told to select crystals that "speak to us" from owner Marlene Vargas' ample collection (all hand-picked by Vargas and road-tested for good energy, naturally).
• Let the magic happen. We presented our choices to Vargas, who began the reading by chanting a prayer and sprinkling the crystals with water.
• Hear your results. Vargas then translated the meaning of each crystal as it related to our lives.
