What's All the Buzz About?
Leanne Lurie shares three skin-clearing honey treatments.
Raw honey is loaded with active enzymes that exfoliate, heal, and hydrate the skin, says Leanne Lurie of Lula's Holistic Mini Spa. Here's how to use it:
Honey mask: "The honey at farmers' markets tends to be runny, which is fine, but the creamier ones stay on the skin better." For a thicker consistency, try Manuka Honey. Leave on skin for up to ten minutes, then rinse with water.
Honey scrub: Exfoliate with Really Raw Honey. Because Really Raw contains bits of honeycomb, wash face gently to slough dead cells without damaging skin.
Honey spot treatment: Mix raw honey with baking soda (equal proportions) to help clear up blemishes.
How sweet it is!
