Allow us to introduce you to a tasty little dish from overseas.

Asian food really speaks our language.

We love the healthy selections from Japan, Vietnam and Thailand, but now Korean food is catching our eye as foreign cuisine's next rising star--for reasons everyone can understand.

Case in point: kimchi, the staple dish of the Korean diet. Consisting of pickled vegetables (primarily cabbage), versatile kimchi is served as a condiment at nearly every meal.

And it's a healthy one, too (so much so that Health magazine named it one of the five healthiest foods in the world). Not only do you get the benefits of cabbage (low-cal, high-fiber and high-vitamin), but the spices and healthy bacteria from the pickling process lend a digestive boost.

Wanna try? It's easy to whip up at home, but you can also sample it at any nearby Korean eatery or pick some up at your local Korean market. Then feel free to experiment (it's a delicious addition to scrambled eggs, rice, burgers and baked potatoes).

What can we say--we're suckers for a foreign accent.
