Skin Soothers
Despite countless reminders, sometimes even the healthiest girls forget to apply (and reapply!) the SPF. If you get caught with your skin exposed, don't sweat it?just follow these tips to soothe the skin you're in.
Slather it aloe over: Grab some pure aloe (gel if store-bought?or use the sap from a broken aloe vera leaf) and rub it evenly over your sunburn.
Tea time: Brew black tea, pop the bags in the fridge and apply as a cold compress to the damaged skin.
Got milk? Try mixing a mashed cucumber with milk and pat on the burn.
Baking bath: Draw a bath of cool water; add ½ a cup of baking soda; then soak.
Calendula can do the trick: The antibacterial, anti-inflammatory properties of the calendula plant can speed up a healthy healing process. VJD Pick: California Baby's Calendula Cream?if it's sensitive enough for a baby's bottom it should be gentle enough for your worst burn.
