Yogahead, Make My Day
On today's agenda: make it through your holiday routine alive (and well) with simple yoga techniques from Michelle Demus, Program Director of Pure Yoga.
8 AM: It hurts to open your eyes. Awaken refreshed and invigorated thanks to Breath of Fire (as in the breathing technique, not your morning breath).
3 PM: You're a clumsy mess while running errands. Having two left feet is a problem when you're bustling. Get it together with Tree Pose, which improves balance while strengthening thighs, calves and ankles (hello, party heels!).
5:30 PM: You're getting nervous about tonight's party. Try some Alternate Nostril Breathing for a sense of calm. It alleviates anxiety, preparing you to make a great impression.
1 AM: You're in bed. Awake. Banish insomnia with Plow Pose, which will help you get to sleep so you don't end up looking like a downward dog tomorrow.
7 AM: You're awake again, and a little hung over. Seated Twist stimulates the liver and kidneys, helping cleanse you of excess alcohol (not to mention regrets from last night's debauchery).
