Sugar Facts
Is sugar bad for skin?
"Yes. It's not an old wives' tale. Scientists have found a close connection between overdoing it on sugar and processed carbs and developing acne, wrinkles, fine lines, brittle nails, lifeless hair, bloating and skin tags.
Loren Cordain, Ph.D., of Colorado State University, traveled to different parts of the world to research the effects of various diets. His conclusions were always the same: a diet of sugary foods and processed carbs can cause pimples. In studying the population in Papua, New Guinea, Cordain could not find a single case of acne. Their diet was simple: fish, fruit, coconut and root vegetables--and almost no refined sugars or cereals."
