Tastespotting
Sink your teeth into the newest healthy bites.
Last week, more then 180,000 new gourmet products were introduced at the Fancy Food Show. Behold the taste trends you have to try...
The next frozen treat: Yasso Greek Frozen Yogurt (pictured) weighs in at just 70 calories per bar. It's fat-free, gluten-free, provides six grams of protein, and it's kosher. Try it in raspberry, blueberry and strawberry. Find it at a store near you.
The next healthy candy: Launching this month, SUPERCANDY by SNAP Infusion is line of candy for athletes and active types. The hook: it contains vitamins, antioxidants and electrolytes in microcapsules that snap when you bite into them. Choose from fun flavors like caramel, sweet-tart and jelly bean. Find them at sporting goods stores.
The next snack: Popcorn. We saw it puffed, flavored with everything from truffle oil to cookies and cream and in chip form. But our new fave, Mini Pops, isn't actually popcorn. The snack looks like tiny popped corn kernels, but it's made from sorghum, a grain with fewer calories, fat and sodium than corn. Get the skinny here.
The next superfood: Cherries. Move over, acai and goji. Grab a pouch of antioxidant-packed cherry concentrate from Cherry Bay Orchards. It packs the punch of more than 60 tart cherries. Add it to smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt or lemonade. Find it at a store near you.
They're fit to eat.
