A local fitness pro sculpts a healthy weekend.
We're hooked on Physique 57's now-legendary muscle sculpting workout, so we were thrilled to hear about the new book, The Physique 57 Solution. We chatted with local Physique 57 instructor Kimberly Denkhaus--who's getting a master's in nutritional science--about her weekend favorites:
-
Eat berry good food.
"My favorite farmers' market is the one in Hollywood off of Selma. I'm a big fan of Harry's Berries' Gaviota strawberries, which are less acidic" than other strawberries. "They're organic, really small, melt in your mouth, and are absolutely delicious."

Take it to the next level.
"Physique 57 is a fun, total body workout" that will "whip you into shape. I started working there because I was a client and I loved it so much. I think it's the most challenging ballet barre workout. As our clients get stronger, we keep coming up with new ways to challenge them."

Hit the trails.
After hiking Griffith Park, Denkhaus heads to The Trails Café, where she enjoys "a delicious avocado sandwich. They also have amazing whole grain waffles that you can get with honey and peanut butter."

Be a tea-totaler.
"I like to drink a lot of tea. There's a great tea place called American Tea Room, near Physique" in Beverly Hills. "I love their Choco-Laté tea. It has a hot chocolate, coffee taste to it. It's a nice, caffeine-free alternative to coffee."

Buy a little lulu.
"I am obsessed with lululemon. When I wash my clothes, my boyfriend jokes that it looks like I own a lululemon shop. It's pretty much all I wear to work out." The clothes "feel great and last for years."
